2017 marks the tenth vintage for Covenant Chardonnay Lavan. The wine is made from grapes grown in a small vineyard on Sonoma Mountain. Jeff began working with this vineyard—called Scopus—back in 2010, when he made some Chardonnay for the vineyard's owners. He liked the wine so much, that he decided to make Scopus Vineyard the core of our Lavan program the next year. The wine is rich in mineral and citrus flavors and reminds us of what great white Burgundy tastes like!

This Pinot Noir is sourced from the same Carneros/Napa hilltop vineyard we have used since our first Landsman vintage in 2011. The 2018 Pinot Noir shows lovely plum and cherry flavors highlighted by floral notes that are reminiscent of violets. Silky tannins give it classic structure and elegance. Rocky, chalky soils keep yields very low, producing wines of great intensity. Yet we find that this vineyard also shows a wealth of elegance and finesse. This wine is ready for drinking now!

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon includes grapes from Covenant partner Leslie Rudd’s Mount Veeder and Oakville vineyards. We do not crush our grapes, but rather, let them gently release their juice as they ferment. Fine-tuned tannins create a silky framework for the elegant layers of blackberry, black cherry, thyme, sage and subtle spice. Beautifully balanced, it hits all the right notes on the palate, finishing long with great elegance.

היין הלבן הראשון שלנו מישראל מיוצר מענבי ויונייה, זן ידוע שמקורו מעמק הרון בצרפת. בהיר ורענן עם רמזים של חומציות וטעמי אגס. בלו-סי ויונייה תסס בחביות עץ אלון ניטרליות לקבלת מרקם וגוף אך ללא טעמי עץ. לטעמנו הוא מתאים למגוון רחב של ארועים חברתיים, לארוחת צהריים או ערב קלילה וגם סתם לשתייה מהנה.

Our first white wine from Israel is the well-known Rhône varietal called Viognier. Bright and fresh with an exotic tropical fruit quality. BLUE C Viognier is barrel fermented in neutral oak barrels for textural richness without imparting oak flavor. It is perfect for a wide variety of celebratory occasions (as well as lunch, dinner or just pure fun).

The 2017 wine, our fifth vintage from Israel, is made from 90% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, both grown at the Tel Faris Vineyard in the Golan Heights. Rich, lush-textured and brimming with red fruit flavors, it (like all our wines) is fermented with native yeast, which we believe highlights the essence of terroir. Firm, ripe tannins give good structure to a wine that we believe clearly demonstrates how well suited Syrah is to Israeli terroir.
